While some might assume boots are synonymous with fall and winter weather, I am something of an all-season boot opportunist. And while there are plenty of boots brands to shop from, I’ve been finding it tricky to track down the best summer boots to invest in for the warmer weather and beyond. So, I chatted with an expert to figure out exactly what boots are best for the warmer weather, and where to find them.
When it comes to the best type of boot for the summer, don’t just settle for your classic ankle boots in 2022: cowboy-inspired boots are a safe bet this season, too. “We’re seeing a lot of Western-inspired boots this season as a great transitional shoe from summer to fall,” says Caroline Maguire, Fashion Director at Shopbop. “The high shaft and traditional stitching add some personality to your traditional boot.”
And while just about every It-girl from Kendall Jenner to Matilda Djerf has been wearing Western boots with lots of denim lately, Maguire provides some pretty great styling advice if you’re wary of making the silhouette work. “I love pairing mine with a simple sundress or mini skirt for an added feminine feel, or even playing up the cowboy style with a wide legged cropped jean - get creative (and have fun!) with this timeless silhouette,” she says.
